Concrete laboratory is one of the engineering laboratory at MTRD headquarters .The laboratory tests various construction materials for the purpose of quality and safety. One of the ultimate aims of studying the various physical properties of the materials is to produce quality structures.
The laboratory carries out various tests that are important in the selection of suitable construction materials. The laboratory is also capable of carrying out field core drilling on concrete structures and sampling of fresh concrete
Some of the tests carried out in concrete Laboratory are as follows:
Cement
- Standard Consistence H2O
- Setting Time [minutes]
- Compressive Strength Test
- Soundness [unaerated & aerated]
Coarse Aggregates
- Sieve Analysis and Flakiness Index
- Los Angeles Abrasion test
- Aggregate Crushing Value.
- Aggregate Impact Value
- Ten Percent Fine
- Sodium Sulphate Soundness Test
Fine Aggregates
- Silt and Clay Content
- Sand Equivalent
- Sieve Analysis
Concrete Design Mix
- We also carry out concrete design mixes e.g. C15, C20, C25, C30 and C35
Steel Reinforcement bar
- Tensile Test
- Weight per Metre run
- Bend Test
- Elongation
Precast Concrete Units are paving blocks, Road Kerbs and test carried out are:
- Flexural Strength Test
- Compressive Strength Test
Building Stones/Blocks
- Compressive Strength Test
- Water Pickup and Water Absorption
